Introductions are in order

Hello there, my name is Dan Eastwoood, and I hail fromWakefield, West Yorkshire. I am a music student, currently studying towards a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Popular Music. I am a guitarist, and I play guitar for Wakefield's female fronted Technically Blackend Doomy Death Metal Band, Narcotic Death.

I have been a musician for roughly ten years now, I would class myself as being semi-pro, but its highly debatable at times.

My musical influences are, in no particular order, Iron Maiden, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Rusty Cooley, My Dying Bride, "Dimebag" Darrell, Zakk Wylde and most recently i have taken great influence from John Sanders, you might know him as Doug Steele. Doug's YOUTUBE videos on his channel have been very helpful in expeanding my playing. They have pushed me to improve my playing, and expand my soundscapes for live and studio uses.

My current live and studio rig for Narcotic Death is as follows.
I use Jackson Guitars, pretty much exclusively, with only two exceptions. These are a De'Armond 7 string SG and a Dean ML, "Dimebag" Dime'o'Flame signature model. The Dean will soon be going through a few changes, which i will post soon enough.
My Jacksons are an RR3 from 1992, a DK2M PRO and an RR24 Pro. I also have a DK2S (sustainiac) guitar which shall be posted with a gear review on here as it arrives.
The guitars then go into a series of pedals, starting with a Jim Dunlop CryBaby wah pedal. I tuned this pedal myself, and i love the sound it gives. (i will post a tutorial on tuning the crybaby soon).
I then run the crybaby into my new Line 6 POD X3 LIVE. I got this recently, and so far, I haven't found a single fault with it. (review up soon, and tone settings for various sounds.).
I then take the pod into a Behringher floor tuner for onstage tuning, as i find it easier to see under the stage lighting.
For my amp set up i use a Kustom Quad Jnr 100 watt Solid State head, through pretty much whatever cab i can get hold of at gigs or practice.
I used to run the guitar into the crybaby, and then into an MXR DIME Distortion, from that into an MXR Boost/Line Driver, and then into the tuner and into my amp.
I now take the signal path and run it into the Aux Input on the front of the amp and turn all the channel volumes off and turn off all the tone settings for the channels and just have power running into the amp, and let the POD X3 Live do all the work. This allows the tones from the POD to come through without getting altered by the amps eq settings. I find that the tone has a more natural sound going throught the Aux Input.

well for now that will be all, if anyone has any questions, just comment on this post and i will endevour to reply in good time.
